When Liam hurt himself during a recent game against Livingston, there were first concerns about a serious setback. Subsequent scans, however, have given rise to hope, showing that the damage is not as bad as first thought. “He’s been really strong. Rodgers said, “Unfortunately, he’s missing this game, having played every other minute prior to this. He’s also unavailable for the forthcoming Republic of Ireland internationals. There’s still hope that he’ll be back in time for the Livingston encounter at the end of the month.
The injury that has kept club captain Callum McGregor out of action has made things more difficult for Rodgers. Luis Palma’s calf injury also prevents him from playing, which makes the team’s preparation much more difficult.
Although the Honduran FA’s prognosis said that Palma would need four weeks to recuperate, Rodgers believes the judgment of his medical team. He declared boldly, “I listen to my own medical team,” gesturing to Palma’s likely early comeback. In time for the Glasgow Derby, perhaps.
