Manchester United’s goalkeeper André Onana took to Instagram to congratulate his former teammate Lautaro Martinez after Inter clinched the Serie A title last night.
Onana, who previously played for Inter, praised Martinez on Instagram on Monday night following the Nerazzurri’s historic 20th Scudetto victory. The Cameroon international left a comment on Martinez’s post, writing ‘Grande Toro’ alongside black and blue heart emojis, acknowledging Martinez’s nickname.
Having returned to San Siro last week to watch Inter’s match against Cagliari, Onana seized the opportunity to reunite with his former teammates and extend his congratulations in person, despite not being able to attend the Milan derby.
During his one season at Inter, Onana made a significant impact, recording 19 clean sheets in 41 matches and helping the team secure the Coppa Italia and the Supercoppa Italiana titles, as well as reaching the Champions League Final. He later joined Manchester United for €50 million in the summer transfer window.
